Women are often more affected by climate change

Women are often more affected by climate change, especially when it comes to migration and displacement.

Research shows that women often play an important role in the response to climate-induced migration and displacement.

As large-scale climate migration and displacement becomes increasingly inevitable, with IPCC estimating that 44 -216 million people could internally migrate by 2050 as the result of slow-onset climate impacts, a gender-responsive approach needs to be adopted to empower women, when it comes to resilience building and addressing the  gendered dimensions of migration and displacement.
