Dr Kol Wickramage is the Global Migration Health Research and Epidemiology Coordinator for IOM. He provides technical guidance on research and evidence generation across the IOM health domains ranging from migrant and refugee health assessments to health action in humanitarian crisis and emergencies. A public health doctor, he worked with the World Health Organization from 2004 to 2009 before joining IOM. He has also completed a doctorate in public health and master’s in human rights law pertaining to forced migration and health. Since 2009, he has worked on a broad spectrum of migration health projects across many regions, ranging from leading health interventions for displaced populations following civil conflict, to supporting member states advance national migration health policy and action plans through an evidence-based, participatory and inter-sectoral processors.
