Marcela Cerrutti

Researcher

Marcela Cerrutti  has a Ph.D. in Sociology with a specialization in Population Studies. She is a research member of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research at the Center for Population Studies (CENEP) in Argentina and Full Professor at the National University of San Martín. She was director of CENEP and Vice-President of the Latin American Association of Population. Currently she is a member of the IUSSP Panel on International Migration: Strengthening the Knowledge Base for Policy.  She was co-chair of the T20 Task Force on International Migration under the Argentina G20 presidency. She has been consultant for several international organizations (IOM, UNFPA, ECLAC, CELADE, UNDP, UNICEF, IADB, and PAHO) and for the Argentinean Government (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, City Government of Buenos Aires). Her research interests include intra-regional migrations in South America; gender, family and migration; return migration; and migration policies and human rights. She has more than seventy national and international publications to her name.
