The Migration Governance Indicators Success Stories (2023)

MGI booklet 2023 screenshot

Since 2016, IOM’s Migration Governance Indicators (MGI) have helped governments in over 100 countries and 70 cities to take stock of their migration policies and strategies to identify good practices and gaps. Featuring 24 countries and cities that have recently taken advantage of the MGI process, the second edition of the MGI Success Stories highlights how the MGI has been instrumental in strengthening migration frameworks through the development of new policies and laws, and action plans to achieve goals outlined in global commitments, such as the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. This booklet offers concise insights that can inspire other governments to use the MGI to harness the power of migration.

This project is funded by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, among other donors.
