Marta Sánchez Dionis

Project Officer

Marta primarily works on IOM’s Missing Migrants Project, which involves collecting and analyzing data on migrant deaths and disappearances worldwide. Prior to joining IOM’s Data Analysis Centre, Marta worked at the World Future Council in Hamburg, where she coordinated a research project on the protection of women refugees and asylum-seekers from violence in Europe. She also worked at the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in Vienna, where she conducted research on access to justice, victim support services, and labour exploitation of migrant workers in the EU. Previously, she was a trainee lawyer at the Berlin-based European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), where she worked in strategic litigation in the field of international criminal justice.

Marta holds an LLB in Law and a BA in Political Science from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and an MA in International Relations from the Barcelona School of International Studies. She conducted part of her studies at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris, France) and qualified as a lawyer in 2014.
